Jacky Lansley & Fergus Early were part of ninety collaborators who were commissioned by Matt’s Gallery, London, to contribute a film to TAPS: Improvisations with Paul Burwell.

Paul Burwell was infamous for his exuberant fusions of fine-art installation, percussion and explosive performance. He was a staunch advocate of, and passionate participant in, all forms of experimental art.
TAPS was a Matt’s Gallery project at Dilston Grove supported by a Legacy: Thinker in Residence Award to Anne Bean. Legacy is a collaboration between the Live Art Development Agency and Tate Research.

Jacky Lansley and Fergus Early screened their 2010 film ‘Who Became Those’ as part of the sixth monthly event of Come Hell or High Water, happening online from early morning to late evening on Sunday May 17th 2020.

Come Hell or High Water was a monthly event that took place at low tide, when a small foreshore was temporarily exposed throughout 2020. It was a pocket of resistance on the banks of the River Thames by Canary Wharf, a place that exists between water and land, private and public space, wealth and poverty and past and present.
